Bosch Rexroth sales up over 8 percent for 2007, reports positive outlook for 2008
Bosch Rexroth (April 22, 2008) - At some 5.4 billion euro, Bosch Rexroth AG's sales for 2007 were up 8.8 percent on the previous year. During the last fiscal year, the drive and control specialist invested 377 million euro and increased the number of employees around the world by approximately 3100, taking the total number to just under 33,000. The company is also expecting continued strong growth in the mobile applications, industrial automation and renewable energies sectors in 2008.

Bosch Rexroth to Acquire Fluid Filter Manufacturer
Lift & Access (April 8, 2008) - Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based Bosch Rexroth plans to acquire K. & H. Eppensteiner, the hydraulics equipment company based in Ketsch, Germany. A purchase agreement was signed on March 31, 2008. The acquisition is subject to approval by antitrust authorities; terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.

Parker Acquires Vansco Electronics; Expands Global Ability to Integrate Hydraulics with Electronics to Provide Total Systems Solutions
Parker-Hannifin (April 7, 2008) - Parker Hannifin Corporation today announced that it has acquired Vansco Electronics, a global leader in the design and manufacture of electronic controls, displays and terminals, communication and operator interfaces, and sensors. Vansco will become a part of the global operations of Parker's hydraulic technology business.

Haldex Acquires Concentric
Diesel Progress (February 22, 2008) - In what appears to be the beginning of an expansion of its Hydraulics Group, as well as heralding other changes, Sweden’s Haldex said it is acquiring Concentric PLC, Birmingham, England. Concentric is a supplier of oil, water and fuel pumps for medium and heavy duty diesel engines. Haldex said Concentric will join its Hydraulic Systems division, which will subsequently increases significantly in size. In North America Haldex Hydraulics is headquartered in Rockford, Ill.

Parker Names Peter Popoff as President of Filtration Group
Parker Hannifin (Februrary 1, 2008) - Parker Hannifin Corporation today named Peter Popoff, age 55, as President of the company's Filtration Group and an Officer of the company. Popoff replaces John Oelslager, age 64, who will retire March 31, 2008, after more than 41 years of dedicated service to Parker. Popoff will transition to lead the Filtration Group over the next two months.

PTDA Members Upbeat Yet Uncertain about 2008
PTDA (January 15, 2008) - Based on the results of the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) 2008 Member Forecast Survey, concerns that the United States might be sliding into an economic recession are not clearly evident among distributors and manufacturers. Among the 46 distributor respondents, 63 percent anticipate sales growth in 2008, just over a quarter project flat sales and about 11 percent expect a drop.

Parker Reports Record Second Quarter Sales
Parker Hannifin (January 17, 2008) - Parker Hannifin today reported record second quarter sales, net income, earnings per diluted share and cash flow from operations. For the second quarter of fiscal year 2008, which ended on December 31, 2007, sales were $2.8 billion, an increase of 12.7 percent from $2.5 billion in the same quarter a year ago. Net income increased 9.8 percent to $211.9 million from $193.0 million in the same quarter a year ago.

Eaton To Develop Hydraulic Hybrid Drive For Army Vehicles
Diesel Progress (December 21, 2007) - Eaton Corp. has announced its participation in a project in which its digital hydraulic hybrid drive system technology will be adapted for U.S. Army vehicles. The goal of the project, which is being done in conjunction with Western Michigan University (WMU), is to develop smaller and lighter drivetrain components, increase fuel efficiency and improve traction and stability for Army tactical vehicles.
